Cargo inspection and delivery checklist
Protect Your Cargo

DELIVERY DAY CHECKLIST

When your container arrives at your address, these steps protect your insurance coverage. Please follow them carefully -- they take less than 10 minutes and could save thousands.

1

Photograph the seal -- before breaking it

Confirm the container seal number matches your shipping documents. Photograph it clearly showing the seal intact.

2

Inspect inside the container before unloading

Check for visible damage to outer packaging. If anything looks damaged, photograph and video it inside the container before moving anything.

3

Note all damage on the delivery receipt

Write a clear description of any damage on the driver's delivery receipt. Sign only after noting the issue. Photograph the signed receipt.

4

Send photos to us immediately

Forward all photos and the receipt to James. This documentation is required by the insurance company for any claim. Signing without noting damage voids coverage.

Important: Signing the delivery receipt without noting damage -- even if damage is discovered later -- will result in the insurance company denying the claim. This step is critical.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to use your warehouse if I ship with DingShang?
No. Our warehouse network is an optional service. Many clients ship directly to their own facilities. However, using our US warehouse locations often reduces your total cost -- particularly for IPI inland routing -- and gives you a staging point for customs clearance and distribution.
What is the maximum storage duration at your US warehouses?
Our standard offering is short-term storage -- typically 7 to 30 days -- to support customs clearance and coordinated last-mile delivery. For longer-term storage requirements, please contact us to discuss a customized arrangement based on your volume and location.
Can you deliver to Amazon FBA warehouses from your US locations?
Yes. We can deliver to Amazon FBA fulfillment centers, retail distribution centers, or your own warehouse. Labeling and FBA prep services are available at select locations. Please mention your FBA requirements when requesting a quote so we can factor in the correct handling and compliance steps.
When do I need to pay for the shipment?
Payment is due 3-7 days before your cargo arrives at the US destination port or transshipment port. You will receive an invoice at that time along with a reminder notification. We accept bank transfer (T/T) and require a bank slip as payment confirmation.
How do you handle US customs duties and HTS codes?
Before your cargo ships from China, we cross-reference your product's HS code with the corresponding US HTS code and confirm the applicable duty rate with you in writing. You confirm the code and rate before it is used for customs entry. This eliminates duty surprises and helps you accurately forecast your total landed cost.
Which Chinese ports can you ship from?
We can load from all major Chinese ports. Our primary hubs are Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Qingdao -- but we regularly handle cargo from Tianjin, Guangzhou, Xiamen, and other Chinese base ports. If your supplier is located near a specific port, let us know and we will confirm routing and pricing.
